APORTE NUTRICIONAL EN PACIENTES PEDIATRICOS EN SHOCK SEPTICO EN CUIDADOS INTENSIVOS

Resumen


 

Los pacientes pediátricos críticamente enfermos requieren apoyo nutricional que garantice apoyo nutricional y no nutricional para enfrentar con éxito su enfermedad. En los últimos años, se ha evidenciado la importancia de la comprensión de aspectos como la fisiopatología de la enfermedad crítica, lo que ha posibilitado establecer estrategias nutricionales que mejoran el estado nutricional, optimizando la estancia en la unidad de cuidados intensivos pediátricos (UCIP) y disminuyendo la morbilidad y la mortalidad. La enfermedad crítica esta directamente relacionada con un estrés metabólico significativo. Por lo cual es crucial entender la respuesta fisiológica al estrés para crear recomendaciones nutricionales para pacientes pediátricos en estado crítico en la UCIP, en cuanto al aporte nutricional por vía enteral vs parenteral la vía enteral se recomienda como la de elección mostrando disminución en complicaciones y mortalidad.
