Resumen
La embolia grasa ocurre por una injuria de causa traumática o no traumática que ante una interacción de los glóbulos de grasa del tejido adiposo a la circulación se dispersan en todo el organismo y conlleva a una gran variedad clínica dependiendo del órgano afecto. Este articulo presenta un caso clínico de síndrome de embolia grasa cerebral y su sospecha diagnostica que es guiada por criterios clínicos mayores y menores, complementados con la resonancia magnética cerebral que juega un rol importante en el descarte de los diagnósticos diferenciales compatibles con su patrón de “campo de estrellas” visualizándolos también en lesión axonal difusa o enfermedades desmielinizantes. La sospecha diagnóstica debe basarse en antecedentes clínicos, falta de respuesta a tratamientos convencionales y persistencia de síntomas neurológicos tras descartar otras entidades.
