Abstract
We present a 27-year-old female patient with recent diagnosis of a mediastinal tumor. She was admitted to the intensive care unit following a surgical attempt to resect the tumor, which turned out to be unresectable due to extensive infiltration into large vessels. The biopsy revealed squamous cell thymic carcinoma. During postoperative follow-up, a secondary infection in the tumor was identified. Radiological findings, therapeutic decisions, and the outcome are detailed.
