Abstract

On December 31, 2019, China reported the detection of a new beta coronavirus. It was first named 2019 Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCov), then it was identified as SARS-Cov-2 and the disease caused by 2019 Coronavirus was defined as COVID-19. Later, cases were reported in several countries on different continents. The evolution of this outbreak motivated the World Health Organization (WHO) to declare an international public health emergency. With the growth of the disease in a large number of countries, on March 11, 2020, the WHO Director-General established the state of pandemic.
